I began my career as a therapist 20 years ago working with women, adolescents, children and families. I'm passionate about seeing my clients thrive in their lives and relationships. I'm inspired by the resiliency of people and love watching them grow in their ability to better handle their circumstances. I work hard to create a warm, comfortable environment for you to explore your experiences, change your current situation and build the life you want. I am focused on giving each client practical tools they can use in their every day life.

Everyone worries or feels anxious occasionally but for people with anxiety disorders, those fears and worries are persistent. I provide a type of psychotherapy called cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to help clients learn to identify and manage the factors that contribute to their anxiety.

I love working with children in our play therapy room using creative techniques to help them learn to better manage their emotions and behaviors. I also have a particular passion for working with adolescent girls as they learn to find balance in their lives. I teach practical strategies to help them deal with their anxiety and daily stressors.

I look forward to working with clients who are interested in making changes in their lives so they can grow and feel confident in handling any stressors that come along. I have found that with an objective counselor, who is supportive and allows the client to share and work through his/her feelings, they can realize their strength to make the changes needed to improve their lives. My career has spanned over 25 years, working with clients with depression, anxiety, grief, life stressors, medical crises, military service members, and children with ADHD, behavioral issues and custody issues.

I have accentuated my training in working with those who are grieving, whether by death or other loss, in addition to Military members and Veterans who suffer from PTSD, deployment stressors, individuals with stress, anxiety and depression, as well as children with ADHD, ODD, and other behavioral issues.

I often refer to the Robert Frost poem, "The Road Not Taken" which describes my role with meeting the client on the path "less traveled by" which can be more difficult, but the most rewarding to see the beautiful outcomes when the client finds the strength to choose their path.

Relationships--and life!--can be hard to navigate. Sometimes, you may feel lonely, down, or stuck in a life that you don't even recognize anymore. You may need a space to explore possibilities for change and someone to listen and offer hope. I work with individuals, couples, and families who are seeking to improve their lives. You don’t have to stay stuck in patterns that aren't working for you or your relationship, or in anxiety or depression that keep you from really living. Therapy can empower you and give you the tools you need to find the happiness, peace, and freedom you desire.

I work with individuals, couples, and families. I help individuals with anxiety or depression take back control of their lives. A racing mind full of worry or sadness has no place in your life. Working with couples, I help them learn to communicate better, resolve conflicts, and restore trust, and enjoy their relationship again. This is my greatest joy.

Faith can sometimes be overlooked in this field, but I believe it can enrich therapy for clients who want to incorporate that aspect of their lives. This practice exists to fulfill Hebrews 12:15 “See to it that no one misses the grace of God.” God’s grace and compassion are never-ending, and my hope is that you find those here.

Are you stressed? Over scheduled? Running on empty? Maybe you’re simply not feeling yourself lately and are uninterested in the things you once were. The good news is there are also a myriad of evidence-based techniques that can help you get back to your true self. It would be my pleasure to walk alongside you through any difficult time in life, using evidence-based approaches to encourage real changes in your life.

I specialize in counseling older adolescents, adults, and couples, who may be experiencing a variety of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, grief, affair recovery, marital issues, and other major life changes. If desired, I am able to offer biblically sound counseling to not only encourage spiritual growth but long-lasting changes.

Ultimately counseling is a process and can be difficult at times. I’m so glad that you have taken the first step of the process in looking for assistance with whatever is troubling you. Please know that I would be honored to join you during whatever struggle you may be going through at this time.
